Trimble County Public Library is Hiring!

Library Assistant
20—23 hours per week    $9 per hour
This is a part-time position helping patrons with technology and other library needs. The ideal candidate is tech savvy, enthusiastic, creative, friendly, organized, willing to work a flexible schedule and has excellent computer, communication and customer service skills. Duties include working at the public service desk, providing information and assistance to library patrons, helping with technology and computer issues, organizing materials and other duties as assigned.  The right candidate may also have the opportunity to plan and present fun and exciting programs for adults. Candidates must have a High School diploma (or the equivalent); college credit or degree is preferred.  Customer service experience and/or experience providing technology assistance is desired. Library Director
The Board of Trustees for the Trimble County Public Library is seeking to fill the position of Library Director. The Director is
responsible for all library operations, supervision of staff, budget, programming and service to the public.

Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in library science from an ALA accredited library school or related Master’s Degree with at least three years progressively more responsible administrative and supervisory professional library experience is preferred.

· A Bachelor’s degree and at least five years progressively more responsible administrative and supervisory professional
library experience is required if the candidate does not hold a Master’s degree from an ALA accredited library school or
related Master’s Degree.

· Must be able to meet and maintain Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives (KDLA) certification requirements at the Paraprofessional lever or higher at the time of hire.

Other Requirements:
A valid driver's license
and a good driving record are required.  The successful completion of a background check prior to
employment is required.  Other preferred qualifications include excellent interpersonal skills, experience in providing sound
fiscal planning and management, and a thorough knowledge of current trends, technology, and best practices for public
libraries.

Responsibilities:

The Director reports to a five-member Board of Trustees, and is responsible for planning and directing the overall operations and management of the library, implementing the mission and goals of the library as set by the Library Board, and supervising the employees.

Essential duties include ensuring a high level of patron service and public goodwill; establishing and meeting priorities,
procedures, and general practices for the Library; preparing an annual budget for approval by the Board; directing the
expenditure of Library funds and allocation of resources; and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with community leaders and groups, other library leaders, and the general public.

Benefits:  The salary range is $40,000 - $45,000 and is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.  Paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, medical insurance, and retirement are available.
